Is consideration a human right ?
Does everyone everywhere have access to this right?

Our Why

At The Consider Project, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to consider the biggest ideas the world has to offer.

Why? Because it is a core human capacity which deserves recognition, protection, and celebration.

This right is often taken for granted by those who possess it freely, and we hope to change that through our unique events and forums.

At the same time, a large percentage of the world’s population lacks this privilege to freely consider. This is largely due to direct oppression or indirect suppression caused by a need to prioritize basic survival.

Our mission is to encourage and enable big consideration all over the world because we think it is a vital component of human flourishing. But to do so without publicly acknowledging the the inequity of opportunities around the world is at odds with this very principle of considering.

This is why every TCP event we also fundraise. We like to say, we "charge" a donation. These donations do not cover the cost of the event (those are underwritten by the KER Foundation) but instead are passed along to organizations fighting to create the preconditions necessary for open and free considering around the world.

For example: The dehumanization and lack of personal freedom caused by forced labor (slavery), sex trafficking, severe thirst & hunger, cyclical poverty, and illiteracy always act as severe barriers to individuals created with a profound ability to consider life’s biggest questions. By supporting organizations that seek to disrupt and abolish these preconditions, we can help enable consideration both here and abroad.

Our organizing conviction is this:

“Our consideration of big ideas should never be isolated from our consideration of others. While our events bring people together to consider big ideas, they also raise awareness and resources to help others around the world freely consider as well.”

… so that one day, all people, in all places, for all time will freely and frequently consider the true, the beautiful, and the good.
